REMOVAL OF OLD STEERING GEAR
Remove clamp bolt from coupling at base of steering column.
Raise front of vehicle and support safely on axle stands.
If fitted, remove hydraulic hoses from power steering pump and drain fluid.
Remove nuts and bushes off stabiliser bar links and remove bolts and saddles to remove sway bar.
Remove split pins & tie rod end lock nuts.
Using tie rod end removal tool, free the stud taper from spindle.
Remove bolts supporting idler arm on left hand side of chassis.
Remove 2 lower bolts supporting steering box and have a someone support steering box while removing final bolt.
Slowly lower complete assembly while sliding steering coupling off steering column.
Check mounting surfaces and grind any welding slag visible. (i.e. below steering box under chassis).
